]]>And, restaurant owners and hospitality marketing agencies are taking advantage of the massive reach of social media and producing killer content to help venues secure bookings and drive sales.
No one knows this better than Mads Gjøl a restaurant manager turned CEO of the digital marketing agency, Flip The Table. Based out of Copenhagen, this agency helps hospitality venues with all aspects of marketing from content creation to social media marketing and digital advertising.
We sat down with Mads to talk about how social media has become a valuable tool for hospitality venues to reach new audiences, drive awareness about their brands and ultimately secure more bookings and drive sales.
“Social media has been a game-changer for Flip The Table in revolutionizing the way hospitality businesses, particularly restaurants, operate. By leveraging the power of social media, restaurants have been able to not only secure bookings but also drive awareness about their brand to a wider audience.
This is especially true for restaurants in Copenhagen, where social media has emerged as one of the most effective marketing channels to connect with guests and potential customers. With the help of social media, restaurants can showcase their unique offerings, highlight their culinary expertise, and engage with customers in a more personalized way.
In fact, social media has now become an indispensable tool for restaurants looking to stay competitive in the ever-evolving food industry,” shares Mads.
“Before scheduling and auto-posting, managing social media platforms was time-consuming and required constant attention. With scheduling and auto-posting, we can plan and execute our clients’ social media strategy efficiently and effectively.”
“The first thing we noticed when using Plann was the ease of use and the ability to plan our customer’s social media content in advance and thereby save time. Plann provides a range of features that we have found to be very helpful in enhancing our clients’ social media presence, including analytics, hashtag research, and a drag-and-drop visual planner.”
“One of our most loved features of Plann is the visual planner. We can easily see what our social media feed will look like before we post, which helps us maintain a consistent aesthetic and brand image for our clients.
Another favorite feature is the analytics features, which gives us the opportunity to analyze our performance and improve our strategic planning when it comes to what works and what doesn’t work.”
“To succeed on social media as a hospitality business, it is essential to know your target audience and create content that resonates with them. Restaurants should also engage with their followers and respond to comments and messages promptly. Consistency is key, so it’s important to post regularly and maintain a consistent brand image.”
“For Flip The Table, we plan to continue using social media to promote our brand and connect with our audience. We also plan to explore new social media platforms and trends to improve our services for our clients and potential clients.”

]]>The post Leveling Up Your Social Media Marketing With Kat Murphy From Social Kat Media appeared first on Plann by Linktree.
]]>No one knows this better than Kat Murphy, Head of Strategy (and Memes) at Social Kat Media, who’s built a social media agency that helps small businesses, large brands, and everyone in between to level up their social media content.
We sat down with Kat to discuss her journey on social media and how she uses Instagram to establish herself as an expert in her field. Plus, Kat shares some tips and tricks for other small business owners with their social media marketing.
“While studying advertising at university, I took an interest in social media and began pursuing it as a specialty. I started working freelance and then realized I could do this for real. I quit my corporate job and took a chance on myself. I focused on small businesses because I was so passionate about community building.
That was six years ago and I haven’t looked back! Since then I’ve built a thriving agency that supports local businesses and large national brands.”
“As a Social Media Strategist, of course, social media was my go-to for building my brand!
I’ve used social media to educate my audience and set myself up as a leader in the industry. The real power of social media has been the connections I’ve built with my audience. By sharing parts of my life and business with my audience, and actively engaging with them, I’ve been able to create a strong community.
Social media acts as a main lead source for the business and is a wonderful portfolio for people who are referred to Social Kat Media. It’s the best showcase of what we do!”
“Instagram is our jam! I love Instagram for building community. Through images and videos, I can share education while also showing up as my authentic self. This allows my audience to see me as an expert while also getting to know me on a more personal level. Using reels, hashtags, and targeted engagement has allowed us to grow our community effectively and sustainably.”
“I love being able to clearly map out my social media content to see how it will look while also being able to strategically plan the goals and categories of posts. It’s so important to remember that Instagram needs to do more than just look good! It also needs to have a purpose and a plan. Using Plann has allowed me to balance showcasing the brand as a whole.”
“I immediately noticed that it was so easy to use and intuitive — the features go beyond so many scheduling tools on the market. The focus on strategy ensures content is more meaningful for businesses and achieves goals. It’s not just about creating or scheduling content — it helps in building strategy and knowing why you’re posting, which is so important.”
“Make a plan! If you’re posting on the fly or randomly – it feels overwhelming and you probably won’t see the results you’re looking for! It’s important to determine your goals for your content, balance those goals, and then make a plan!
Don’t compare yourself to others. Your journey is different from others. What another business is doing on social media isn’t necessarily what you should be doing online. It’s important to figure out what you enjoy doing on social media AND what is getting you results.
Have fun. At the end of the day, social media should be fun. Making it something that you enjoy doing will make it more sustainable for you and get you better results. Play around with different types of content to find what feels good.”
“I’m working on developing more products and courses to help even more small business owners! Hint: a reels course coming *reeeeeeel* soon. Everything we do is about empowering small business owners to build engaged communities, have fun online, and build sustainable social media systems.”

]]>The post Finding Success On Social Media With Architectural Photographer Ronnie Frey from Doorways of Chicago appeared first on Plann by Linktree.
]]>Ronnie has always had a keen eye for detail. With a passion for architecture, design and a love for photographing the world around him, his Instagram account Doorways of Chicago (or D.O.C., for short) was born in 2018 and started growing more rapidly in 2020. Today, it boasts over 30.5k followers and counting.
In this chat about all things business, social media and finding success online, Ronnie shares his honest tips for growing an engaged audience on social media and what the future holds for Doorways of Chicago.
View this post on Instagram
“I got into the photography industry almost by accident. I had no idea I could take good photographs! I am an interior designer by trade and have practiced design for most of my career life.
Having studied architecture in my college training, I developed a love for it, especially vintage or historical architecture. I’ve always loved doorways which have so many different philosophical meanings, aside from their aesthetic beauty. So for fun, I started going around capturing photographs of amazing doorways in Chicago and posting them on my Instagram account @doorwaysofchicago.
At the beginning of the pandemic, I got laid off from my retail job. The very next day I decided to work on growing my Instagram account like it was my job. I had gained around 5,000 followers. I knew I had something that I could eventually monetize but it was going to take some work to get to that point. Today with over 30,000 followers I offer content creation, influencer promotions, photography prints, greeting card collections and architectural walking tours in Chicago and more.
As a photographer I am known for my keen eye, often showing an angle of a building or a detail of a structure that most people have never seen. I’m known as a storyteller and my audience loves to read the history behind each post.
Aside from the photography, I am most proud of the architectural walking tours I have designed and I’m really excited about expanding that portion of my business. The biggest compliment about my current tours is that people are calling them ‘time travel’ experiences.”
“Social media has been vital and crucial in building my business. While in the beginning stages (I’m talking when I was at 400-500 followers) I never stopped posting. I showed up every day for over two years before any monetization opportunities ever presented themselves. Consistency is the key. I kept working at it even when it seemed like nothing was happening.
I made sure to respond to every message and comment during the early years. Now I can’t respond to every single comment but I always make sure to respond to as many as I can.
Additionally, I made sure to stay true to myself and to show what I wanted to show, even if sometimes it seemed like the engagement was maybe not what I had thought it would be. I wanted people to see the real me and to know me for my specific passions.
Social media is how I sell most of the tickets to my tours and also photo prints and greeting cards and I have even started to work with as a content creator for other Instagram accounts.”
View this post on Instagram
“I post one photo daily of a doorway or the architecture the doorways belong to. I love vintage planes, trains and automobiles so I post that content as well. This past year I purchased a few drones and a gimbal stick and started creating reels using that content. I just love it!
I have had musical training all my life and in college as well so to find just the right song to compliment the footage and create the mood I am after is so rewarding. I can combine all my passions into a video that is only a few seconds long. I call them my little movies!”
“Plann had been a strong part of my account’s growth. I love that I can drag and drop all the photos and visually plan my feed! I also love the scheduling feature because I often decide what I am going to post the next day while I am lying in bed at night. To know it is all handled with the text, the hashtags, and tagging really takes a lot off my mind.
I also love being able to create and save hashtag sets in the Plann app. Additionally, to have the desktop version that syncs with my phone app is so wonderful. I do a lot in the mobile app but sometimes I enjoy working on the desktop version and to know that everything immediately syncs is priceless! The cross-posting to other social media platforms (like Facebook) is also so useful!”
“Since I was able to predetermine what my feed would look like I noticed a definite uptick in followers. You only have a few seconds to capture someone’s interest when they visit your profile and for them to decide if they want to follow you so I realized my feed needs to look amazing at all times.
I also use the results and analytics feature a lot in order to always have a current media kit available to potential clients.”

“Do the work: Show up every day. I rarely miss a day but consistency is the key. It has been a lot of hard work, learning about social media algorithms, hashtags, new platform features, and how to organically grow an Instagram account. At the same time, it doesn’t feel like work because I love it so much.
Engage with people: If someone leaves a thoughtful comment on a post I will even visit their profile to see if I can find their first name and use that in my response. Be social! I love the interaction with people, both with friends and clients I have gained as a result of my Instagram account.
It’s an amazing thing to be able to touch people’s lives through photography and to really embrace the social part of social media! I’ve made so many great friends and clients purely as a result of being on social media in this capacity.
Say, “Not today, Satan” to your inner saboteur: I’ve had to learn to get out of my own way, believe in myself and not doubt my instincts. Almost instantaneously, when I decided not to care what anyone thought anymore, to quit listening to my inner saboteur, and to put my head down to do what I do best, the magic started happening.
In this business I believe you need an unshakable belief in yourself, even if you’re the only one who can see your vision.”
“To get paid to travel and present those experiences through my eye is now a dream of mine. So, I am working towards making that happen! I want to keep building my tour business, so I am adding more tours as often as I can. Over the past 12 months, in addition to my regular tours, I’ve conducted some private tours for companies like Match.com, Teknion Furniture, Delta-Brizo Showroom and some private family tours.
It is also exciting to be involved with a start-up phone app called ‘eATLAS’, which allows you to take app-guided walking tours that I and other tour guides have designed. The beauty of these type of tours is you can go wherever you want, whenever you have the time, all by using your phone.
This app is currently available for all iPhone and Google phone users with several tours mostly in the Chicagoland area. I have designed seven tours for the app and am working on many more. Their goal is to have tours available from around the globe for their users.
I would love to create a series of coffee table books of my photography and to get my card collections into some retail stores. I also have an idea to do a series of videos going door to door and telling people’s stories, from shop owners to restaurants and more. I have done a few already and now I want to scale it up and make it a thing. Maybe it can become a TV series! I like to think big!”

]]>The post Building A Unique & Sustainable Leathergoods Brand With Designer Sharokina Golpashin appeared first on Plann by Linktree.
]]>In our digital world, small businesses can’t look past the ability to build trust and connect with their audience through social media.
No one knows this better than designer Sharokina Golpashin, founder of the sustainable leather goods brand, SHAROKINA. The oh-so-talented Sharokina creates timeless, sustainable leather bags and accessories from her studio in Germany.
“I develop leather goods that walk a tightrope between fashion and jewellery through special details and unconventional design constructions,” shares Sharokina.
We chatted to Sharokina to find out how she’s grown her brand using the power of social media and how scheduling tools (like Plann) help her to streamline many of her business processes.
Let’s dive into her story below!
“When I founded SHAROKINA in 2013, the social media world still looked different: Facebook was my most important platform back then, and Instagram was not yet what it is today. The algorithms worked very differently from today, videos played a subordinate role, and Stories or Reels didn’t even exist.
So I mainly used Facebook to inform my followers about new products and upcoming events. It didn’t matter if a new post visually matched the previous ones because there was no tile stream as we know it from Instagram today.
It all had its advantages and disadvantages. Now it’s the other way around: Instagram is my most relevant channel, and everything revolves around presenting a clear and harmonious appearance.”
“What I love most about social media is the ability to connect with people all over the world. I can look over the shoulders of other leatherworkers in Japan or the US whenever I want, and on my profile, my customers can see how I create their bags and accessories.
They can visit me virtually in my studio in Düsseldorf, Germany, although they sit comfortably at home on the sofa. Sometimes I ask my community for their opinion on new design details or new leather colors – so they can even become part of the development process!”
“Before Plann, my process was much more complicated and involved. I used several other apps to schedule my social content and write the caption. In my calendar app, I set reminders so I wouldn’t miss the best time to publish. Then I used to copy and paste to merge all the content into Instagram.
But in the end, it wasn’t uncommon for me to delete an image right after I published it because it didn’t fit as well visually into the stream as I previously thought. Very annoying – I’m so glad that’s a thing of the past!”
“As a small, sustainable label, I sell with SHAROKINA mainly online through my eCommerce store. That means I don’t have a local store to attract potential customers.
So I have to reach people online. And thanks to social media, people can find and learn about my products from anywhere – no matter in what city or country they live. Social media turns the whole world into a village!”
“Plann is intuitive to use, offers many possibilities, and has such a nice design! It was important to me that you can use the app from both your phone and computer. When I take pictures while working in my studio, I usually do it on my phone – but if I want to show clean product images, I need to be able to access images on my computer.
I got tired of having to send all the pictures back and forth between devices. And I prefer to write the caption in my notebook anyway. Plus, it’s handy that I can also schedule my posts on Facebook and Pinterest with it – all from one app!”
“Plann finally makes posting fun again! Before I used Plann, I had to use three or four other apps to prepare what I can now do with just a single one. It saves so much time, and I now post more often! I can load the images into the preview stream weeks in advance, keep rearranging them, and start writing the captions.
The whole social media process is much more organized and efficient, as I upload the relevant images directly to Plann instead of having to search for them later on my phone or – in the worst case – forgetting they even exist!
Of course, the analytics and stats are also very helpful in understanding what content my followers want to see, when is the best time to post, and how my account is performing.”
“I love the auto-post feature! I usually post in the evening but prepare the posts in the morning. When everything is ready to post, all I have to do is to set the time, and then I can check off this item on my daily to-do list and get back to other things.
What I also like is the ability to put together hashtag sets. This way, I always have all the relevant hashtags and can add them with one click.”
“The images should be high quality, well exposed, harmonious, and visually appealing. That not only sounds demanding, it even is! And it’s a process that takes time – I am also still learning! But I always take great care in making sure my images match the previous ones in terms of shapes and colors, and there are highlights in between that standout.
I like to alternate between product images, work in progress, design details, and sometimes just inspirations I discover in nature or architecture. Also, I don’t care anymore if a post gets many likes. It’s just important to me that I transport my brand philosophy, and people should understand what my account is about at a glance.”
“Be authentic and personal. Especially as a small one-person business, this is hugely important. In the past, I always tried to make my brand look bigger than it was. Today I know that people especially appreciate the small, sustainable, and honest labels that build a brand with a lot of heart and soul and attention to detail.
So show who you are, what you do, and what makes you different from the others. Find your niche and become a professional in that area – maybe your followers can even learn something through your account!”
“In my stream and especially my stories, there will soon be more insights into my work as a bag designer. I do everything myself: The design, the prototypes, the making, the photos, the website, etc. – so there is so much to show! And I want to share some helpful tips like how to identify high-quality leather or what to look for when buying bags.
I’m also working on new bags right now, and I am in the process of finding new distributors. It always remains exciting, and I look forward to everything yet to come!”

]]>The post Using Social Media For Ethical Digital Marketing With Ray Pastoors, Founder of LYF Solutions appeared first on Plann by Linktree.
]]>No one knows this better than Ray Pastoors, the founder of LYF Solutions, an ethical digital marketing agency helping small to large-sized businesses to scale their brand and business.
We sat down with Ray to chat about all things digital marketing and how Ray and LYF Solutions use social media for both their own and their client’s social media strategies. Plus, Ray shares his top tips for building out an effective social media content strategy.
View this post on Instagram
“LYF Solutions has existed in different shapes and forms for over two decades now, so we’ve been around for longer than social media has been a thing! I jumped onto social media very quickly for my digital marketing clients, but it wasn’t till my team grew that I made a conscious decision to utilize social media for my own business as well.
I consider myself very fortunate to have an incredibly creative, diverse, and dedicated team who genuinely enjoys what they do. Although we are an entirely remote team (and have operated that way long before the events of 2020 and beyond), we are very close-knit and committed to LYF Solutions’ ethics and business goals.
I mention this because since social media is ever-changing and so wide-reaching, having a team like this has allowed us to have a lot of insight into the different ways people use social media. That’s why I decided last year that we’d get together several times over the year to just brainstorm content ideas specifically for LYF Solutions. It’s both strange and exciting, giving our own business the ‘client treatment’!
While we have always – and will always – use social media to educate our followers and promote the businesses, organizations, movements, and causes that are important to us, we have recently begun to share more about the people behind LYF Solutions too.
I’m quite camera-shy, so this has been a brand-new experience for me! But true to form, Instagram audiences have responded really well to seeing the human side of our business. My team jokes that I’m all about the numbers and data, and they’re right! So I believe we’ll continue sharing more light-hearted and relatable (but still educational and helpful) content for our followers to engage with.”
View this post on Instagram
“I love how such diverse communities from all over the world can connect and communicate on social media for a common goal!
LYF Solutions has an ethical charter that is based on our core values. This means, as a business, we are committed to sustainability, diversity, inclusivity, and empowering marginalized communities. We also make it a point to not take on clients in unethical industries, like companies that conduct animal testing, or have unsafe or exploitative work conditions (among other criteria).”
Being an ethical company that exclusively supports other ethical companies is the very basis of what we do, and social media has allowed us to discover businesses, causes, and movements that would otherwise might not have as much reach in traditional media due to budget constraints.
We also relish the opportunities that come from the ever-changing social media space. A great example is when video content became hot on Instagram. We definitely had to take a step back to think about how we were going to tackle it, but we’ve now made video a huge part of our own social media strategy as well as for our clients. And like any algorithm, this constantly changes – so it keeps us on our toes to test and learn content for our clients and us.”
“I was very lucky that I have a dear friend and colleague who had started using Plann very early on, so we’ve been on this platform for a long time. Before that, we would have to manually post to a page and set a phone alarm to make sure we got the content out on time.”
View this post on Instagram
“The awareness around sustainability, clean energy, and ethical living has really boomed thanks to social media. It’s so much easier for the message to get out there when there’s such a variety of content on social media that tackle the very real issues facing our planet and the impact it will have on all of us in the future!
“Thanks to social media, I have also become a part of a warm, vibrant, and supportive community of small local business owners that really walk the talk. Discovering these businesses and getting to know the people behind them – and oftentimes also taking them on as clients – has been such an unexpected and delightful experience.
I think social media oftentimes is regarded rather negatively, but I believe that it’s a case of ‘you get back what you put in’. So we focus on sharing meaningful, valuable, and uplifting content, and so we’ve always received that same energy back!”
“The first thing we noticed was the seamless interplay between the mobile and desktop app. This has been incredibly useful for our remote working team!
The user interface (UI) on the desktop is also so easy to interact with, and although Plann has grown to include a whole heap of new features, it somehow still feels really simple to navigate.”
View this post on Instagram
“We use Plann every day to schedule clients’ posts, plan client feeds, and find inspiration for posts. It’s made the social media aspect of our digital marketing services so much simpler!
As a team, Plann allows us to have one spot for our content strategists, graphic designers, video editors, copywriters, and clients to come together to work on social media strategies. Plann has also seamlessly integrated with the rest of the cloud-based programs we use to ensure our processes are as efficient as possible.”
“We love the ease of scheduling and also how you can repurpose content with just a couple of clicks. The free content tool is also a fantastic way to find high-quality filler content when we need it. The new easy link feature is a new fan favorite, it looks on-brand for us and makes bio link adding a breeze.”
“While a beautiful aesthetic isn’t really the focus of our own Instagram feed (to my social media team’s delight), we do prioritize it for our clients. I think having a branding kit is a big part of creating a cohesive, aesthetically pleasing social media presence.
Your brand is more than a logo and some colors. Consider other aspects like how you want people to feel, and how you speak and respond – whilst it may sound like fluff, these are what make great brands succeed and stand out.”
View this post on Instagram
“Create a content strategy! When it comes to social media, too many businesses just wing it. A content strategy will ensure your messaging and content pillars come through in every post, and will avoid the stress of having to come up with posts on the fly.
Plus, the process of creating a content strategy presents an opportunity for you to think critically about the purpose of your social media – is it to connect? To sell? To add to your digital brand presence? Perhaps a combination of these? You won’t know for sure until you sit down and intentionally strategies ahead of time.”
“We are about to launch our new social media service packages for 2023 and are looking at ways we can continue to drive ethics in content marketing. Our team is also excited to introduce Australians to our new brand True Green which supercharges our commitment to make a difference in the environment with our Green Web Hosting service.”

]]>The post Using Instagram Reels To Grow Your Social Media Presence With Fitness Trainer, Chloe Puff appeared first on Plann by Linktree.
]]>With the start of the New Year, there’s never been a better time to crack down on your social media strategy and start making those Reels videos. Plus, Reels content has worked tremendously for Chloe Puff, a pre-postpartum fitness specialist and founder of Chloe Puff Training
We sat down with Chloe to learn more about her story, and how she used Instagram Reels to elevate her social media presence, and strategy and drive engagement.
“When I first started my business 5 years ago, I was doing everything by hand, batching captions in a Google Doc, and setting alarms to remind me to post. I eventually found Hootsuite but it just wasn’t for me. I don’t even remember how I stumbled across Plann, but I’m SO glad I did! it gave me hours of my life back.
I’ve been using Plann for at least 3 years and have used it for not only my business account for coaching but also for my podcast page! I love being able to batch captions, strategize before posting, and even take the guesswork out of which hashtags to use.”

“I’ve used 80% Reels content in this quarter of my business. I’ll admit that even not knowing the most effective way to save my Reel with audio to auto post, I still use Plann in the process – I record my reel but I’ll save my caption using a placeholder and plug it in when I need it! This way I can still strategize my feed accordingly but be more flexible with the type of Reels content I put out since the trending sounds change so quickly.”
View this post on Instagram
“For high-quality reels, I honestly keep it pretty simple at this point. I like to use the effects in the Instagram app, so I make sure I always wipe my camera first, pop my phone on the stand, and turn on my ring light so I get the best quality possible. If I were to give one piece of advice, strategy is great but what really lands with the audience is authenticity.
Make sure it’s engaging, fun, and really highlights YOUR personality, not just what you think your audience wants to see.”
“I think my longest-running favorite has got to be the simplicity of the visual grid. being able to move your posts around to make them not only look good but to help your strategy flow is perfection.
I probably only use 20% of all the features on the app and still get a lot out of it. As a full-time mom, business owner, and pursuer of dreams, this helps me cut down on time thinking about what to post, when to post, and everything in between. When I’m in a creative block, the prompts really help to jog my creativity a bit too! There’s something here for everyone.”
View this post on Instagram
“I have found that my biggest growth periods always happen when I’m in my ‘authentic flow’ as I call it. Being real with my audience about my own struggles and bringing it back to them. Authenticity is my #1 tip when it comes to social media growth! I truly don’t make the fanciest content, I am just honest, and it works for my brand!
Whatever your brand, staying true to the heart of your brand’s purpose is key! In terms of a more practical strategy, aim for consistency, whatever that looks like for you. Posting multiple times a day isn’t for everyone, so stick with quality over quantity but do it regularly!”
“There is so much coming this year in my business! I have my new 12-week hybrid coaching program and I can’t WAIT to show my audience the phenomenal client transformations behind the scenes. I will be posting more case studies, valuable tips, and plenty more repost-worthy inspo for moms wanting to transform their bodies and minds and regain confidence after babies. There is such a lack of support for postpartum women, and I am thrilled to offer more free workshops, challenges, and more in the coming year!”

We sat down with Lisa Desilet to learn about how she uses Plann’s Canva integration feature to craft an eye-catching and aesthetic Instagram feed that incorporates her businesses brand identity and resonates with her audience.
“I worked with two fantastic experts in this space, who are also amazing female entrepreneurs, one, Build By Brandt – Tatum and her team helped me get really clear on the feel and style of my brand with colors, fonts, and aesthetics. They custom-designed social templates I use inside Canva along with my website.
Also, @ampersand_studios – Frannie and Nicole helped me nail my ICA and how to speak to her; then they executed some kick-ass photos that fully represent me. I’m so thankful for both of them!”
“I really keep my ideal client in mind. I want to stand out to her in a way that feels like she’s seen and acknowledged. As a female-lead brand, it can be hard to get away from the softer, more feminine colors in standard templates.
I knew that wasn’t representative of me, my message, or the client I was seeking. We are a little more direct, a little more bold, and a little stronger than the typical ‘female branding’ you see. I wanted to make that really clear. So I have bold text; intense colors in my photos; and nothing overly ‘soft’.”
“How do I narrow this down? For starters, I LOVE that Plann integrates so easily with my Canva templates that I can just import a design I created and plug it into my grid. Next, I love the hashtag groups they populate for me. It takes the headache out of finding what to use. I just enter a topic, like ‘Entrepreneur Coach’ and it populates for me.
I also love that Plann helps me find the times my audience is most online to post new content to my feed. This helps me stay fresh and in front of my audience. Lastly, I love the content prompts on days I’m really struggling with ideas. Those have come in handy more than once! I haven’t had to spend any money on ‘content experts’ because Plann helps me when I need it.”
“I was struggling to be across too many platforms and I felt myself edging toward burnout. With Plann’s auto-post feature (particularly for Facebook), I am able to connect with my audience there even though I don’t spend as much time on that platform as others. I also love that Plann can recreate the same post across multiple platforms. Major time saver!”
“Most importantly, centre your client/audience in all of your design content. If you are working to build a personal brand, it is actually far less about you and more about who you want to serve. I had to test some things out to figure out they didn’t work.
For example, some of my text on Instagram swipes were too small and I was squeezing too much onto one slide. My content was getting lost and no one was reading. I am now working on simplifying and keeping the text large enough so people will actually read and respond to what I share. (Kinda the point, right?)”
“My Leadership Coaching program is live now and I’m building an Everyday Leaders Academy. I am excited to talk with female entrepreneurs who are looking to invest in themselves and their businesses in order to lead effectively without compromise.
We’ve seen a huge shift in the growth of side hustles and I know there are some strong, resilient women who need support. We can be wildly successful without sacrificing our health, family, or anything else that’s important, and I can help.”

]]>Instagram is constantly adding new features and updating the platform to enhance the shopping experience for customers and help brands grow their eCommerce businesses from product tagging to in-app shopping. So, there’s never been a better time to take advantage of the benefits Instagram has to offer and build a successful ecommerce business.
We sat down with Lauren Dunne, the Founder and Managing Director of Billie & Byron to find out how she uses social media to grow her eCommerce business and why features like product tagging are so essential to any e-commerce business and brand.
Ready to learn more about Lauren’s story and find out her top tips for building an eCommerce brand on social media? Let’s dive in!

“New mums and mums-to-be have a huge presence on social media. It’s one of the key ways they find a connection as they enter motherhood, which can otherwise be a really isolating time. We strive to be active, helpful, and responsive on social media, as it’s where our primary audience spends their downtime – and it’s often the place where they first discover our brand.”

“Plann has helped to streamline our social media content creation process. The ever-evolving Plann dashboard has so many nifty features that make planning and scheduling content so much simpler – and more efficient than ever.”
“Plann’s product tagging feature has been an incredibly useful tool for our business. We operate on a small-scale, so we don’t have a dedicated social media team. This means we can’t spend a huge amount of time planning and executing our social media strategy, so we have to maximize the features available to us.
Product tagging has proved to be one of the most valuable features of Plann for us, and we have seen a large increase in our Instagram click-through rate as a result.”

“I love being able to see an entire months’ worth of content at a glance, and the handy content prompts really help overcome writer’s block when it comes to generating content.
Being able to add the first comment (i.e. hashtags) when scheduling posts rather than manually adding it in after the post has been published is my favorite Plann feature. Such a time-saver!”

“My top tip for building engagement and loyal followers is to focus less on selling products in your social media posts and instead concentrate on giving value to your audience with helpful and instructional content, how-tos, and a dash of humor thrown in (if that’s in line with your brand).
On top of that, engaging with your primary target audience really helps create warm and fuzzy feelings toward your brand, which promotes sales, website clicks, and brand loyalty.
For us, aspirational lifestyle photography along with strategic hashtags and consistent product tagging tends to do most of the selling, as opposed to being super pushy in our caption copy.”

“As we continue to grow, we’re focusing more on product manufacturing to enable us to increase our profit margin and diversify the product range that we offer. Watch this space for brand new baby accessories launching in 2023!”

]]>The post Building A Thriving Creative Business Using Social Media With Elisabeth Waller appeared first on Plann by Linktree.
]]>But, the social media landscape is always evolving, so brands have to stay up to date on what formats and trends are hot on the platform and integrate it into their social media marketing strategy.
We sat down with Elisabeth Waller, the owner of Elisabeth Waller Photography & Creative Studio to find out how she uses social media to keep evolving with the trends and how Instagram has become the main driver of new clients for her business.
Ready to learn more about Elisabeth’s story and find out her top tips for building a brand on social media? Let’s dive in!
“I started my business while I was working remotely for an agency. I was pretty new to social media and just learning the ropes, creating social media calendars for a luxury hotel brand with locations in several countries.
Plann didn’t exist at that time, so I became very familiar with the other scheduling services that did exist. Social media was and still is the main driver of new clients for my business. It’s how people find me. They usually follow along and get to know me a bit before reaching out to book services.”
View this post on Instagram
“My favorite thing about social media is the ability to meet and engage with people all over the world.”
“It was pretty stressful. Before Plann, when I had other services that didn’t offer as many features I had to be ‘on’ all of the time. I could schedule posts but always had to check to make sure they went live because there were often problems with auto-posting. I spent a lot more time planning and scheduling posts.”
View this post on Instagram
“Social media has been invaluable to my business. I wouldn’t be where I am today without it. Many of my most valued clients are in other parts of the world and without social media, we never would have connected.
I also value my colleagues just as much as my clients and every single one of them I’ve met through social media. I think it’s incredibly important to build connections with others in your field and see what they are doing so you can be inspired by them and fueled to keep moving forward and bettering your skills and business.”
“The thing that first drew me to Plann was the integration with Cloud, my photography client delivery service. I can directly access my galleries and schedule those images into my Plann calendar. There is no other service like it out there! This saves me so much time.
But the reason I stayed with Plann is that every feature has been so thoughtfully built with the user in mind—no matter your skill level with social media marketing.
There are so many great little features that all add up to it just being the most user-friendly scheduling service I’ve ever used, like the ‘Best Performing Palette’ in analytics and the inspiration for posts based on industry.
Even if you’re skilled at writing captions, sometimes after the 30th caption your brain just goes blank and it’s incredibly helpful to have some inspiration to get things flowing again.”
“I literally wouldn’t be posting at all if it wasn’t for Plann because I just don’t have the time. I batch out content and then I don’t have to worry about posting every day. I recommend Plann to all of my clients too.
They trust my recommendation because they know how thorough I am when it comes to researching the best systems for my business.”

“Scheduling Reels has become my favorite feature because I have hated making Reels and have been dragged kicking and screaming into adding them as a regular part of my marketing.
Little things like being able to add a cover photo right in Plann are so helpful! The ability to save sets of hashtags that are ready to paste into each post is probably my next favorite feature.
The suggested sets of hashtags available by post type or industry save me time and also give me ideas for new sets of hashtags to use.”
“Do your branding work and be consistent! Schedule time every week to create content in advance. You’ll be able to preview it all in Plann and move things around as needed.
When creating for myself or a client, I design the Feed so there’s a balance of light and dark, a balance of the brand colors, and don’t forget to use plenty of white space too.
Make use of the best-performing color palette analytics to see what colors perform best with your audience.”

“Social media will always be a fast-evolving landscape. Plann keeps up and adds new features all the time. You can make the most of social media by reading the Plann newsletters and checking out the educational blog regularly.”
“I’ve been slowly making the switch to adding strategic brand design and website design as well as brand photography. In the next year, I plan to redo my branding and website. It’s a big change but a really good one.
Right now I’m working with some great clients across the country and I’m excited to keep growing that aspect of the business.”

]]>The post Building An Engaged Community With Lifestyle Content Creator, Isabella Lanter appeared first on Plann by Linktree.
]]>Instagram, YouTube and TikTok have rapidly evolved alongside their users and have helped content creators, brands and small businesses flourish.
We sat down with lifestyle content creator Isabella Lanter who talks about her experience building a social media following whilst finishing her studies, creating content across multiple channels and how she’s been able to share her talents with people worldwide.
Let’s dive into her story below!
“I used social media to bring awareness to my creativity and capabilities. Social media is an incredible space to show off your talents and what you can do.
It actually inspired me more to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. This ultimately led to my creating my Influencer Oasis page where I could share free content creator tips.”
“I love using social media as my creative outlet. I get to offer value and relatable content that others can relate to! While getting unique with the way I post and create content. It’s an incredible way that I can connect with people all around the world and display what I love to do.”
“Honestly, it was extremely hard. I worked a lot on social media as a full-time college student. I already had a packed schedule, so I needed to utilize my time well and plan my content.
I’m also a big visual person, so I need everything in front of me at once to plan it out well. The auto-posting and feed planning aspects of Plann genuinely helped me with my content creation.”
“Plann helped me see what was working and what wasn’t. For example, Plann showed me whathashtag groups performed the best on my posts. I started following the recommendations, and I noticed a major difference in performance.
I also could see what posts performed well in general, which helped me in what content I would be shooting next. Not to mention saving me time by offering auto-post!”
“It’s very straightforward with visuals and guidance. I love platforms that guide you in the planning process so you don’t feel so scattered. I could see my feed, pre-post, and organize it according to my aesthetic.
I also love how Plann offers analytics and insights on your audience.
Understanding how my platforms are performing is extremely important as a content creator. I’ve gained access to analytics and details that other platforms don’t offer, such as my best performing color palette, best performing hashtags, and so much more.”
“My tips are:
• Find out what feeling or mood you want to bring to a person when they come across your platform? Do you want to give off a playful vibe, a more modern look?
• Focus on small details that make you stand out, whether that’s a specific font, your logo, how you post your content, etc.
• Find ways to make your aesthetic unique and have features that your audience will connect to you. You want someone to come across a post, icon, etc. and immediately think of you or your brand.
• Find a color palette that you can use for branding and your aesthetic.
• Don’t forget to stay true to yourself and remember if you need to rebrand in the future that’s okay!”
“Utilize the features that each platform is prioritizing. Social media and their algorithms are changing quickly. To grow and perform well, it’s best to utilize a feature that a platform releases.
If the app prioritizes it, then you have a greater chance of reaching more people. For example, Instagram is prioritizing reels the most. So therefore as a creator in the current times, using reels the most is the best way to approach Instagram.”
“I think just simply expanding and creating more. I’m hoping to launch more planners that are for content creators. I also hope to work on my vlog channel more and focus on different lifestyle content. I’m really excited to see what happens with my new projects.”

]]>The post Changing the Self-Care Narrative on Social Media with Nathalie Reiter from Self Cared appeared first on Plann by Linktree.
]]>That’s why Nathalie Reiter from Self Cared is on a mission to change what self-care really means. Self Cared is reclaiming the self in self-care as a means to start prioritizing yourself and your needs – whatever they may be.
And Self Cared is not about the glossy, Instagram version of self-care but rather about giving you permission to define self-care in a way that means something to you, whether that means ‘punching it out’ or sitting in your feelings.
To help you navigate any mood and put yourself first, Self Cared is offering a helping hand with curated self-care products and resources to meet your needs.

We sat down with Nathalie, Founder and Director of Self Cared, to talk about all things social media, curating beautiful aesthetics to create a consistent brand message, and of course how she’s redefining what self-care means online.
Ready to learn more about her story? Let’s dive in!
“We started using organic Instagram and TikTok pre-launch to start building our audience at Self Cared. We also ran a giveaway in the lead-up to the launch to collect email addresses that we could later use for marketing purposes. We used organic and paid social media to promote this giveaway as a way to build our business online.”

“I love that social media provides a platform for people to openly share how they feel. As businesses, we can learn so much from this feedback and use it to continuously improve and evolve.”
It helps us to personalize experiences in a way we haven’t been able to before social media, and it allows us to grow with our audience. I find this aspect of social media very exciting!
I also love how social media gives us a way to connect with individuals from all walks of life and build genuine communities of like-minded people.”
“It was stressful! I’m not someone who particularly enjoys spending lots of time on social media, so having to remember to post was always a chore.
Before scheduling and auto-posting, I found it quite stressful to always have to remember to post, and I really didn’t enjoy asking my team to work evenings, early mornings, or weekends to post either. I’d like to leave work at work and I want the same for my team.
Having to manually post outside of business hours never felt good to me because it stopped us from properly shutting off and recharging. Scheduling posts ahead of time and letting Plann take care of the rest might seem like a small thing, but it’s huge for me and my team’s mental health. We need that proper time off!”
“There’s no comparison. Social media opens doors and allows us to reach people exactly where they are. At Self Cared, we don’t just sell products to practice self-care.
We’re on a mission to re-write what self-care means (spoiler, it’s whatever you need right now) and create a space for open conversation about mental health. It’s too important to not be talked about, and what better place to start than social media!”

“As a business, it’s important to be consistent across channels – including website, packaging, and all marketing. This ensures the business and brand are easily recognizable, which creates a sense of familiarity and comfort.
My top tip is to create a brand style guide and include guidelines for marketing and social media. It’s also beneficial to create a visual sample grid and set up templates for posts, stories, and Reels to ensure a consistent aesthetic across the board. This way, anyone in the business can easily create on-brand posts and content.”

“Things felt more planned and under control. Not only can I easily check and edit posts my team has prepared, we also don’t have to worry about posting outside of business hours anymore. I know it’s all taken care of and safe in one place.”
Apart from scheduling and auto-posting, we love using the Inspiration Tool and the calendar for content inspiration. The hashtag options are extremely helpful as well – being able to organize and save groups of hashtags saves us a lot of time.”
“Be real and create genuine connections by engaging with users and being authentic and honest as a brand.”
“It’s our mission to make self-care practices and mental health services more accessible to Australians. We’re not here to tell anyone what self-care looks like, we’re here to remind people to tune in and ask themselves: ‘What do I need today?’
Our online store and partnership with the not-for-profit organization WayAhead are only the beginning.”
